Heavy showers will affect northwestern parts later

Today:

A spell of wet and windy weather for most areas, the rain clearing eastwards this afternoon, allowing sunny spells to develop from the west, except in far north and far south. Becoming very mild except in the far north.

Tonight:

Cloud and rain in the south moving northwards across England and Wales, with an exceptionally mild night in store for southern parts. Heavy showers will affect northwestern parts later. Windy.


Thursday:

Heavy showers clearing from Scotland, then many northern areas dry with sunny intervals. Cloudier further south with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, mainly in western areas. Very mild again.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Exceptionally mild at first. Unsettled with spells of rain and strong winds in dispersed with drier and brighter interludes. Rain heaviest over southern Scotland. Becoming colder through Sunday.
