Sunny spells for most areas today, but what can you expect heading in to the weekend?

Today

Sunny spells for most areas. Largely dry in the far north and far south, but some showers elsewhere, especially southern Scotland and northern England where some of these heavy with the risk of thunder.

Tonight

Dry for many northern parts though some rain for the Northern Isles. Areas of showery rain moving into the south and southwest overnight with some thunderstorms possible early Saturday.


Saturday

Areas of heavy rain and thunderstorms in south and east early in the morning developing more widely by day. Northern Ireland and west Scotland most sheltered. Feeling close in southeast.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday

Showers developing widely on Sunday, some heavy and thundery and feeling humid. Rain into the south on Monday, then moving north through Tuesday. Becoming windy and fresher.
