Weather: Heavy showers, thunderstorms and an unsettled week ahead
Steve Parsons
Many areas dry with plenty of sunshine, early cloud in some North Sea coastal areas clearing. Cloudier over southern UK with early patchy rain giving way to some heavy showers and thunderstorms later, mainly over East Anglia and southeast England.
A fine end to Sunday for many but evening showers over southern UK only slowly fading for some. Dry for many overnight but turning cloudier in the north and east.
Early cloud in some northern and eastern parts becoming confined to northern Scotland. Otherwise, sunny spells but inland also scattered showers during the afternoon. Hotter than Sunday.
Remaining unsettled throughout with showers or longer spells of rain, some heavy with a risk of hail and thunder. Breezy in the south and it will be rather cool.
