Low cloud affecting many parts with some light rain and drizzle in places, mainly in the north. Some sunny spells, largely in the south and east where it will feel very mild. Some heavier rain reaching the far northwest later.

Cloudy for most today with some rain and drizzle in places, persistent in the northwest at first. Mild and breezy.

Thursday:

Cloudy and mild with some patchy rain in the north and west, though also some brightness in the east. Heavy rain and gales reaching Scotland and Northern Ireland later.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Friday cold with sunny spells and blustery showers, wintry in the north. Milder at the weekend, with periods of rain particularly across the northwest. Still some brightness for eastern areas.
