Showers continuing in places, especially in the north and towards western coasts.

Today:

Cloud and showery rain focused in the south and west at first. Cloud breaking to allow some sunnier gaps but further heavy downpours affecting some places by afternoon, the focus moving north and east. Reasonably warm in the east.


Tonight:

Showers continuing in places, especially in the north and towards western coasts. Showers probably merging into some longer spells of rain across parts of northern UK.

Wednesday:

Rain, heavy and persistent in places continuing across parts of Scotland. Elsewhere sunshine and showers, these heavy with possible thunder in some central areas. Cooler for most. Breezy in south.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Sunny spells and showers for many. Showers heavy at times, with hail and thunder possible. A spell of rain, perhaps heavy, likely to affect the far south for a time.
