The weather is mostly dry in the north, while the far south are forecast rain showers and later in the day, thunderstorms.

Today:

Many parts dry with warm sunny spells after early low cloud clears. Some showery rain affecting the far south, becoming more widespread and heavy later with a risk of thunder.

Tonight:

Heavy rain moving northwestwards across parts of England and Wales. Mostly dry across Scotland and Northern Ireland with patchy cloud and clear periods.


Monday:

Cloudy across Wales, the Midlands and northern England with some heavy rain at first, turning lighter and patchier later. Some warm sunshine elsewhere but heavy showers developing in the south.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Rather cloudy across the south with showers or longer spells of rain, heavy with a risk of thunderstorms in places. Largely dry in the north with warm sunny spells.
