What to expect if you're out and about in the UK today

Today:

Early fog patches slowly clearing, then many parts rather cloudy, though cloud breaking to allow sunny spells in places, mainly across Wales and western England. Turning wet and windy in the far northwest.

Tonight:

Rain moving southeastwards across Scotland and Northern Ireland, followed by clearer skies later. A mixture of broken cloud, some clear spells and a few fog patches across England and Wales.


Monday:

A band of cloud and patchy light rain moving southeastwards into Wales and northern England. Sunny spells for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Elsewhere, fog patches slowly clearing, turning somewhat brighter.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Unsettled across the far north, with spells of rain, showers and strong winds. Generally more settled elsewhere, although often quite cloudy with overnight mist and fog.
