Patchy rain and drizzle across southeastern areas will fade but cloud will take longer, leaving it rather cool for many

Today:

Patchy rain and drizzle across southeastern areas will fade but cloud will take longer, leaving it rather cool for many. Elsewhere many inland areas seeing some warm sunshine, but isolated sharp showers developing in parts of southwest England, possibly Wales.

Tonight:

Many areas fine, after any showers die out. Low cloud spreading back into some eastern areas but elsewhere some clear spells. Locally chilly in the east and north.

Thursday:

Areas of warm sunshine in the south and west and also in parts of Scotland, although isolated showers. Probably cloudier in eastern and northern England, scattered heavy showers possible later.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Fine for many areas Friday, though some scattered showers likely in the afternoon. Becoming more unsettled into the weekend, with rain or showers for most. Warm and increasingly humid.
