Low cloud and some drizzle will affect coasts across northern UK, but breaking inland to give sunny spells. Further south, plenty of sunshine again and becoming hot inland, possibly triggering the odd shower later.

Tonight:

Fine, dry and warm for many areas, although low cloud again affecting some northern parts, whilst a few mist patches form elsewhere under clear skies.

Tuesday:

Another mostly sunny and hot day, with higher temperatures extending further north into Northern Ireland and southern Scotland. Cloudier far north. Risk of a thunderstorm in south later.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Fine and dry for most, just the odd isolated afternoon shower. Very warm, locally hot, although northeast coasts will be cooler. More widespread showers will reach the southwest on Friday.
