Dr. Frank Luntz spoke about his research into cultural division on GB News, saying ‘it’s like a virus, and unlike Covid, there’s no vaccine’

"Wokeism" and culture wars are set to be the biggest dividing lines in British politics, according to research published by the Centre for Policy Studies.

Dr. Frank Luntz, who has advised the likes of George W Bush, conducted the research and says that the cultural divisions in Britain will soon catch up with those seen in the United States.

"I don't want you to have that kind of populism because it is like a virus," Dr. Luntz told GB News presenters Mercy Muroki and Darren McCaffrey. "And unlike covid, there is no vaccine. If you get woke and you get cancel culture and you get that kind of division, I don't know how to get rid of it."

The study also found that whilst Conservative and Labour supporters were united by their values, they were fundamentally split on policies and priorities.

Speaking about his research, Dr. Luntz said "the Centre for Policy Studies was committed to not just understanding, but to really getting inside the psyche of the British people and not just to measure it, but to try to address it.

"So finding number one is that we need to promote mutual respect . . . Finding number two is that one third of the population, including some people who are watching right now, don't even know what woke and cancel culture is. So it's not here yet, but it could come."

Dr Luntz said the third finding "bothers me most," claiming that "forty two percent of the UK is invested in their country . . . but even worse, only twenty seven percent feel the UK is invested in them."

He added that there's an "idea that you're committed to your country but your country isn't committed to you, that's a disaster."
