Missing boys: Family leads dig for bodies of boys who vanished in 1996

Family, friends and the local community have stepped up the search for the bodies of Patrick Warren and David Spencer, who vanished from Chelmsley Wood in Solihull in 1996, aged 11 and 13.

The disappearance of the children was has never been resolved, but the brother of David Spencer, Lee, has been digging with a group of friends after atip off from a witness claims that a few days after the two boys disappeared, he saw a man here at this site digging holes. A Facebook appeal by members of the community has attracted a number of volunteers.

David Spencer and Patrick Warren were last seen at a petrol station. They became known as the Milk Carton Children because their photos were the first ones to be placed on milk cartons as part of an appeal to help find them.

Speaking to GB News' West Midlands Reporter, Balvinder Sindu, David Spencer's brother said he was disappointed with the police's reaction to the information, adding that the witness had "been going there for years and years and years. And they're not listening. So we're doing ourselves."

A statement from West Midlands Police and has advised diggers not to excavate, and let the trained professionals do their job. They added that they understand that emotions around this situations are running high and they are sensitive to that.

However, the family have said "not a single police officer has come to help" so far.
