Prince Harry received staggering £16M advance for bombshell memoir which attacked Royal Family

Spare has sold over 750,000 copies in the UK so far after its release two weeks ago
Prince Harry received a £16million advance for his record breaking autobiography Spare.
According to reports, both Harry and Meghan Markle signed a four-book deal with publisher Penguin Random House.

Other books on the publisher’s roster include Michelle Obama’s “The Light We Carry”, Bono’s “Surrender” and Richard Osman’s “The Bullet That Missed”.
Spare sold 467,183 copies in the UK during its first week, making it the fastest-selling non-fiction book in UK since records began in 1998.

Nearly two weeks later, Spare has sold over 750,000 copies in the UK when audio and ebooks are included in sales.
In the US it sold 629,300 copies in its first week, just 201,700 short of Barack Obama’s record 831,300 copies.

Ghostwriter JJ Moehringer received just shy of £1million for the book and Harry pledged that “proceeds” from the book would be given to UK charities.
He has also given money to Wellchild as well as Sentebale – his Africa-based charity supporting youngsters with HIV.
It comes as Netflix announced Harry and Meghan’s six-part-series is its second-highest ranked documentary in the history of the platform.
Fourth quarter earnings from the streaming giant were unveiled on Thursday and they make for positive reading for Netflix, having reported a 7.7 million subscriber gain during the October-December period.
