Prince Harry criticises Britons as the 'most credulous people on the planet'

Prince Harry labelled Britons as "credulous" during a rant in his memoirs about the British press.

Harry has heavily criticised the British press throughout his autobiography and his TV interview to promote Spare.

However, the Duke of Sussex also fires a dig at the wider British public, blaming them for reading and believing domestic newspapers.

In Spare, he writes: "I told the reporter that I thought the British press was cr*p, particularly with regard to my brother and sister-in-law, who'd just announced that they were pregnant and were subsequently being besieged."

Harry continued: "Everyone's guilty for buying the papers. But hopefully, no one actually believes them.

"But of course they did. People did believe, and that was the whole problem.

"Britons, among the most literal people on the planet, were also the most credulous.

"Even if they did not believe every word, there was always that residue of wonder."

The Duke of Sussex used his memoirs to criticise several members of the Royal Family with his brother Prince William and his stepmother Camilla, suffering multiple digs.

However, new polling conducted between January 5-6 shows that Prince Harry's popularity has dropped in the UK following the release of extracts of his book.

The latest YouGov poll shows that just 26 per cent of Britons have a positive view of Prince Harry.

This represents a seven-point drop in popularity for royal in around a month.

Sixty-four percent of Brits that were polled said they had a negative view of the Duke of Sussex.

Prince William has suffered multiple attacks from his brother in Spare and the Prince of Wales's popularity has also suffered as a result.

The first in line to the throne's popularity has fallen by eight points but remains significantly higher than Harry's levels.

Sixty-nine percent of Britons still hold a positive view of Prince William, which is down from 77 percent in December 2022.
