Supplies of Carling and Coors beer hit have been hit by the disruption

Tim Martin’s business JD Wetherspoon has been forced apologised to customers after the pub chain’s beer supplies were hit by the UK’s supply chain crunch.

Supplies of Carling and Coors beer hit have been hit by the disruption, with some pubs not receiving deliveries according to the hospitality giant.

Lorry driver and factory staff shortages attributed to Brexit employment rules and the pandemic have impacted milkshakes at McDonalds and chicken supplies at both KFC and Nando’s in recent weeks.

Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “We are experiencing some supply problems with both Carling and Coors, which means that some pubs do not have the products available.

“We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused. We know that the brewers are trying to resolve the issue.”

The firm did not provide further details regarding the supply issues, but it is highly likely to be related to a shortage of HGV drivers.

Last week Martin Reid from the RHA told GB News that 'a perfect storm' has led to continuing supply chain disruption.

Wetherspoon founder and Brexit supporting chairman Tim Martin had earlier this year denied reports that his pubs were impacted by Brexit-related staff shortages.
