A person is seen asking the woman if she is ok

Watch the shocking video of a woman in Cheltenham who is observed sleeping in the driver's seat of a car before going on to drive away at 100mph.

In footage released by Gloucester Police from August of this year, vomit is seen at the roadside which is believed to have come from the woman in the car.

A concerned passerby filmed the video and tried to wake her up.

He can be heard saying: 'Hello, you ok there?

'Hello, you okay?'

The man who spotted her driving away called the police and concerned, followed in her pursuit, telling police her location.

Gloucestershire Police said the drunk woman drove erratically at up to 100mph on the roads of the A40 and narrowly missed other motorists.

Police burst into her home moments after she returned to the house and bodycam footage showed the woman slumped asleep on her couch.

They noted that the room smelt strongly of alcohol and one said: 'We have had a member of the public that has followed you and they have seen you crash your car.

'We know you have just got back, we have been just behind you.

'Get some shoes and come outside with us.'

The woman, who is slurring her speech, resists arrest and refuses their command.

And the arresting officer said: 'You could have killed yourself, you could have killed someone else.'

Police handcuffed her and took her outside.

Upset, the drunk woman tried to kick him as she was led away by police.

A bottle of alcohol was found in the front passenger side of the Toyota Rav4 Hybrid she was driving.

She was disqualified from driving for 20 months and received a 12-month community order.

The drunk driver will also have to do 15 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days and pay a fine of £180.
