The word has been replaced with the term 'sexuality'

The Welsh government have removed the use of the word “sex” from their sex education curriculum.

Instead, the word has been replaced with the term “sexuality”.

References to boys, girls and women have also been taken off of the list.

The ‘Relationships and Sexuality Education Code’ is scheduled to be debated today in the Welsh Senedd for a total of 30 minutes before it is expected to be brought in.

Member of the Transgender Trend campaign group Stephanie Davies-Arai said the decision was "not fact-based biologically-accurate sex education, but indoctrination of children in gender identity ideology.

"The erasure of sex undermines safeguarding and erodes the concepts of privacy, boundaries and consent, putting girls particularly at risk."

Responding to the complaints, the Welsh government said it was "wrong" to suggest sex had been taken off the curriculum as they are referenced elsewhere in the Women Against Violence, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Act.

Conservative Senedd member Robin Millar urged the government to "think again about the removal of sex from sex education."
