Feminist writer Julie Bindel exclusively tells GB News that Giuffre 'would not have settled for some kind of non-apology'

A friend of Virginia Giuffre has exclusively spoken to GB News after Giuffre and the Duke of York have reached an out-of-court settlement in the civil sex claim filed in the US.

Julie Bindel told GB News: "'Virginia is like any woman who decides something terrible has happened to her and is going to use her voice to enable women and girls to speak out about the endemic issue that we have with sexual exploitation."

The feminist writer spoke about Prince Andrew's accuser Giuffre, describing her as "brave, courageous and tenacious."

In response to the settlement, Bindel said "I am sure there are many viewers who wish that the evidence had been tested in court because she has always maintained that she was a victim of abuse."

"She is someone who would have not have settled for some kind of non-apology."

"What she's gone through is hell. We have her to thank for this whole issue becoming such a big story."

When asked by GB News' Colin Brazier about what is next for Virginia Giuffre, Bindel said "the matter will not rest here."
