A small bat weighing only five grams has been rescued in Swindon after getting into a fight with a cat.

An RSPCA Oak and Furrows spokesman said: "He has been treated and is fit as a fiddle.

"He stayed with us a little longer than expected due to the weather conditions we have been experiencing - we were concerned that he would be blown away!

"He has now been released and took off like a boss. Very confident. Sending him back to the wild to continue to be part of our precious ecosystem."
