Angry shoppers have slammed the supermarket firm, with some claiming they were not informed of the cancellations

Tesco has been slammed by angry shoppers after they cancelled all home delivery orders after 1pm today due to a “technical issue”.

Some customers who had delivery slots for today had called up the supermarket’s customer service line to enquire about their booking.

A recorded message on Tesco’s customer service helpline says: "Due to technical issues we've had to cancel all orders after 1pm.

"If your order was due after 1pm you have not been charged.

Uber said its network of Uber Eats couriers will now be responsible for making deliveries of Tesco products ordered via the supermarket's Whoosh service.

The problem has angered shoppers, with some claiming they were not notified of the cancellations until the phoned up.

Among the frustrated customers included Helen Stephanie, who wrote on Twitter: “Managed to phone up and told my order and everyone else's after 1pm has been cancelled! Didn't even get an email to say.”

While Nathan English added: “Tesco my order was due between 2 and 3pm today, call the number to find out all orders after 1pm have been cancelled.

“Thanks for not informing me and making me wait round when I could've actually gone to the shops. It's not acceptable customer service.”

A Tesco spokesman said: "Due to a technical issue, we have had to cancel some online orders that were due for delivery today.

"We’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused.

“Customers who are impacted can use our app or website to rebook at a time convenient to them,” as quoted by the Mirror.
