A 28-year-old has been arrested at an east London address on suspicion of disseminating terrorist publications

A terror suspect has been arrested for allegedly sharing extremist material online.

The Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command unit said the 28-year-old was arrested on Tuesday morning at an east London address on suspicion of disseminating terrorist publications.


He was detained under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and taken to a London police station, the force said.

The suspect was found at one of two addresses in the areas visited and searched by specialist officers in the course of a wider terror investigation.

The Met said this investigation relates to alleged extreme Islamist material posted on social media.
