Publican Adam Brooks believes trans rights in sport are taking away women's rights

Publican Adam Brooks has warned that every champion in women's sport could be a trans athlete unless rules are changed.

Swimmer Lia Thomas made headlines around the world when she became the first trans athlete to win the NCAA women's championship in swimming.

And Emily Bridges, who competed professionally in men's cycling before transitioning, announced she would be competing in the women's division after lowering her level of testosterone.

Critics have highlighted the natural advantages athletes such as Lia Thomas and Emily Bridges have over women.

Speaking on Dan Wootton Tonight on GB News, Adam Brooks has warned trans athletes could soon be dominating women's sport.

He told Dan Wootton: "In five years, every world champion in women's sport is going to be a trans athlete."

British Cycling have since backtracked and are now not allowing Emily to compete in race this weekend, which would also have included a former Olympic champion.

She is also still classed as a male by British Cycling.

And Mr Brooks believes if trans athletes are allowed to enter other women's sports, then it could become dangerous.

He also said: "I'm of the opinion the world's gone made. I've got two daughters, if they become good at their sport would I be happy for them to be in the boxing ring with someone who was born a man?

"No I wouldn't. I think we've lost all sense of what's right and wrong.

"I think trans rights need to be respected, but could we not set up trans events? Trans games? Why do women need to lost their right? To give trans rights, we should't be taking it away from women.

"The fairness of women's sport is completely gone."

Broadcaster John Sergeant also urged governing bodies in sport to stick to fair competition and to stop wading in on trans rights.

He said: "The cycling authorities should be asking the question, how can we make sure our sport is fair?"
