A serving police officer has been charged after allegedly abusing his power for a sexual purpose.
Pc Anthony Ritchie, 45, of West Midlands Police, has been charged with misconduct in a public office following an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
It follows allegations the officer had an inappropriate and sexual relationship with a woman whom he met through the course of his duties.
The IOPC referred the case to the Crown Prosecution Service, which authorised the charge.
Ritchie will appear before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
