Sarah Palin defies Covid guidelines by eating at posh restaurant two days after testing positive for Covid

Sarah Palin was spotted eating at a fancy New York restaurant on Wednesday night, just two days after she tested positive for covid.

The former Alaska governor is unvaccinated and tested positive on three separate rapid Covid tests on Monday, causing her defamation trial against the New York Times to be delayed until next month.

Palin appeared to go against Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) rules on Wednesday night after she was spotted at Elio's restaurant on the Upper East Side.

Palin was seen not wearing a mask and dining, laughing and chatting at the restaurant table.

CDC rules recommend anyone testing positive for the virus to quarantine for at least five days, and wear a mask around others for another five after that.

The 57-year-old mother-of-five has also received criticism for eating inside at the same restaurant on Saturday, breaking New York's regulations for people to show proof of vaccination in indoor restaurant spaces.

Luca Guaitolini, the operations manager at Elio's, has defended Sarah Palin's Wednesday visit however, saying that she had "returned to the restaurant to apologise."

"Tonight Sarah Palin returned to the restaurant to apologize for the fracas around her previous visit," he told DailyMail.com. "In accordance to the vaccine mandate and to protect our staff, we seated her outdoors."
