The Russian invasion of Ukraine has 'largely stalled on all fronts,' the UK Ministry of Defence has said.

In a statement, the UK Government body says Russian troops have made "Russian forces have made minimal progress on land, sea or air in recent days and they continue to suffer heavy losses."

The Ministry of Defence added: "Ukrainian resistance remains staunch and well-coordinated. The vast majority of Ukrainian territory, including all major cities, remains in Ukrainian hands."

The statement comes following fears of multiple deaths at a theatre in Mariupol, as local officials claim a Russian bomb was dropped on the building.

This is a breaking story. More to follow.
