NFL star and father-of-two Jaylon Ferguson has died aged 26, the Baltimore Ravens have confirmed.

In a statement released today, the Ravens said: "We are profoundly saddened by the tragic passing of Jaylon Ferguson.

“He was a kind, respectful young man with a big smile and infectious personality.

“We express our heartfelt condolences to Jaylon's family and friends as we mourn a life lost much too soon."

The cause of his death remains unknown.

Ferguson was drafted in the third round by the Ravens in 2019.

Known by some as "Sack Daddy", Ferguson leaves behind his partner, Doni and their two children.

Safarrah Lawson, who is Ferguson's agent, told NFL Network the family would appreciate privacy while coping with his loss.

Tributes have begun to pour in, with the NFL saying: "We are heartbroken to hear of the tragic loss of Jaylon Ferguson.

"The NFL family sends our deepest condolences to his loved ones."
