A sheriff in Scotland found Mr Fisher guilty of setting up a covert camera in an attempt to covertly film a 15-year-old girl when she was unclothed in a bathroom.

Carl Fisher, a miniature train fanatic who attempted to film a schoolgirl showering, has been sentenced from his home whilst reportedly sat next to his model railway.

He was given permission to use a room in his house as a ‘courtroom’ which would allow him to avoid travelling to Perth Sheriff Court during the Covid-19 pandemic.

A sheriff in Scotland found Mr Fisher guilty of setting up a covert camera in an attempt to covertly film a 15-year-old girl when she was unclothed in a bathroom.

Mr Fisher claimed the recording light on his camera had been taped over to avoid offending other model railway enthusiasts.

Several replica trains could be seen during the hearing – and were indeed referred to by Mr Fisher during the case – which resulted in him being found guilty and placed on the Sex Offenders register for two years.

The incident which took place in 2008 has led to Carl Fisher being found guilty of ‘using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices’ towards the victim, reports The Daily Record.

The court heard he had hidden a recording device inside a pile of clothing in the bathroom of the 15-year-old girl in attempts to record her.

When the victim moved the laundry pile she noticed a camera which appeared to be set up to record the room.

Carl Fisher made claims the camera had been left in the bathroom accidentally and tape over the recording light was only present because of online abuse which had been received from people within the model train community.

"I had been filming my train layout," he said during evidence. Trains don't go through red lights. I had been criticised online about the red light, so I had put some tape over it."
