French Interior Minister has said that five people have been apprehended by authorities over the Channel incident

Five people have been arrested after Channel migrant boat sinks, killing at least 27, according the French Interior Minister.

Emergency services were alerted yesterday evening that a boat carrying migrants capsized.


Five women and a girl have died.

Over 25,000 migrants have crossed into Britain this year, three times higher than the 2020 figure.
