Omid Scobie, who previously penned 'Finding Freedom' is working on an unnamed follow-up

A royal expert who has been dubbed "Meghan Markle's mouthpiece" has confirmed he is working on a new book on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Omid Scobie, author of Finding Freedom, revealed his new book, which has not yet been named, will be released at some point next year.

He wrote: "I can finally share that I'm working on a brand new book! ”

Mr Scobie's previous work was critical of the Royal Family and detailed unknown areas of the couple's life.

After initially denying they had any involvement in the book, Ms Markle's legal team admitted a close friend of her's had communicated with Mr Scobie and co-author Carolyn Durand.

In his new book, Mr Scobie says he is focussing "on a new chapter of the royal story and feature unique insight, deep access, and exclusive revelations."

But experts believe the timing of this new book could be due to the release of Tom Bower's biography on Meghan and Harry.

Among the stories included the Duke and Duchess of Sussex being involved in a “monumental row” ahead of the 2020 Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey.

While the book also claimed that Harry's friends said he was "nuts" when he first started dating Meghan Markle after the Duchess "reprimanded" them.

A source told Heat magazine: “She (Meghan) feels the book is very nasty and uncalled for.

“It’s made her all the more determined to stand up for herself, but equally this is a sharp reminder that they have a colossal amount of repair work to do if this narrative is everything to go away.

“For all their bravado and stubbornness, Meghan and Harry don’t want to be at war with the world forever and there’s a lot that hasn’t come out yet.

“This book is pretty savage, but the worry is that it’s just the tip of the iceberg.

“The fact the author went out of his way to dig so thoroughly into their relationship has caused a good deal of anxiety.

“There’s a clear choice here for Meghan and Harry - stand up and fight back or soak it up and hope it all goes away in time.”
