The Games, founded by Prince Harry, get under way in the Hague on April 16

Meghan Markle’s makeup artist has confirmed that he has arrived at the Invictus Games.

The Games, founded by Prince Harry, will get under way in the Netherlands on April 16 and continue until April 22.

In a post on Instagram, Meghan’s makeup artist Daniel Martin posted a short video showing a banner of the Invictus Games alongside the caption: “Are you ready!?!?”

Mr Martin, who is reportedly a close friend of the Duchess of Sussex, did her makeup for the royal wedding in 2018.

He also attended her baby shower in New York a year later.

While the couple have received VVIP status for the visit to The Hague, they will not receive a “Dutch royal welcome,” royal biographer Angela Levin has said.

That’s because of their decision not to attend Prince Philip’s memorial.

She said: “Any decent human being would have been absolutely shocked by Harry’s paltry excuse for not attending the memorial service for Prince Philip.

“The Dutch royals would have seen how he’s treated his family and I do not believe they will make any effort beyond the minimum.

"They will have seen how upset Catherine and William have been and how very diminished the Queen has looked since her husband’s passing."

On the way to the Games, the couple paid their first visit to the UK in two years to visit the Queen.

They landed in the UK before heading to Windsor where they met her Majesty and Prince Charles.

Visitors spotted the pair at Windsor, who were attending a traditional Maundy Thursday ceremony.

One stunned guest said: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw who it was. We waved and they waved back.

“They looked happy and relaxed and waved to everyone on the bus. Charles and the Queen were at Windsor Castle at the same time so they must have met them both."

They told The Sun: “It was quite the sight. We knew we might see Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall at the ceremony but never believed we would bump in to Harry and Meghan."
