The revelations come following the release of Meghan Markle's Archetypes podcast

Following the launch of the much-anticipated Archetypes podcast hosted by Meghan Markle, listeners got a glimpse into the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship after the former Suits star let slip her nickname for Prince Harry.

Before the first episode of the new Spotify show begins in earnest, Meghan introduces her guest Serena Williams to her royal spouse.

The 41-year-old former actor says to Harry: "Hi! You wanna come say hi? Look who just popped in."

Ms Williams responds: "Hello! Hello there!” to which the father-of-two says “How you doin?”

“Good, how are you?” replies the 23-time grand slam winner.

Harry then remarks on the tennis superstar’s hair, saying: “I like what you’ve done with your hair! That’s a great vibe.”

As the Duke of Sussex leaves them to get on with the interview, the LA-born Duchess drops her pet name for her husband, saying: “Thanks, my love!"

The episode, titled The Misconception of Ambition with Serena Williams, is the first podcast released following an £18million deal with Spotify signed towards the end of 2020.

Both Meghan and seven-time Wimbledon champion discussed the challenges of motherhood as well as reflecting on their perceived ambitions.

The Horrible Bosses actress said she did not recall “personally feeling the negative connotation behind the word ambitious”, until she “started dating” Prince Harry.

She went on to say it is "really hard to unfeel" that negativity.

Another topic discussed on the show includes Meghan having to leave her son Archie following a house fire in South Africa, in order to take part in royal engagements.

Meghan said on the fire: "We came back. And, of course, as a mother, you go, 'Oh, my God, what?' Everyone's in tears, everyone's shaken. And what do we have to do? Go out and do another official engagement? I said: 'This doesn't make any sense.'"
