Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set to receive a humanitarian award for their work with Afghan refugees.
Meghan and Harry’s Archewell Foundation will receive the Partner Organisation Award in New York next week.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex founded the foundation in October 2020, just months after stepping down as senior royals and moving to the US to live.
The charity’s official website describes Archewell Foundation as “an impact-driven non-profit created by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“Our core purpose is to uplift and unite communities — local and global, online and offline — one act of compassion at a time.
“We believe that compassion is the defining cultural force of the 21st century.”
The award is being given to the pair's charity for their work with Afghan refugees as well as providing "generous financial support" to the Human First Coalition.
The foundation’s Executive Director James Holt, who will pick up the award on the pair’s behalf, said: “It’s an honour to be recognised by Human First Coalition, whose steadfast work in Afghanistan has played a critical role in delivering much-needed aid and resulted in the successful evacuation and resettlement of thousands globally.
“We share a commitment to supporting families and veterans and are grateful for their partnership," as quoted by MailOnline.
Earlier this year, Harry was a keynote speaker at the UN commemoration to mark Nelson Mandela Day, in which he spoke out about several topics.
During his speech at the UN event, Harry said: “How many of us feel battered, helpless in the face of the seemingly endless stream of disasters and devastation, I understand.
"This has been a painful year in a painful decade.
“We’re living through a pandemic that continues to ravage communities in every corner of the globe.
“Climate change wreaking havoc on our planet, with the most vulnerable suffering most of all.
“The few weaponising lies and disinformation at the expense of the many.”
