London stabbing as 12-year-old boy knifed in east of capital

Police and paramedics were called to an incident in Brook's Road in Newham shortly after 8:15 on Tuesday evening

Officers found the 12-year-old suffering from a stab injury in Plaistow.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene, before being taken to hospital.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said they were still awaiting an update on the boy's condition.

Police said: "One male has been arrested on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) and another arrested on suspicion of affray."

A crime scene was put in place around the scene of the stabbing and inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Detectives have appealed for any witnesses to the incident, or anyone else with information to contact the police on the 101 phone line.
