London bus crashes into apartment block - multiple casualties reported

It is believed there are up to 15 casualities

Multiple casualties have been reported after a London bus crashed into an apartment block in east London.

The force tweeted: "Police are dealing with an incident reports of a bus in collision with an apartment block at Main Road, Romford.


"Officers and London Ambulance Service [LAS] attended. Delays expected. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

The force told twitter users to: "PLEASE AVOID THE AREA."

According to the Romford Recorder, police received a call to the scene at 1.55pm following reports that a bus had run into a wall on the Main Road.

Transport for London (TfL) confirmed that the crash involved a 174 bus.

The service runs from Dagnam Park Square to Marsh Way in Dagenham.

London Ambulance Service staff, as well as officers on the scene, found that the 174 bus ran off the road and crashed into a perimeter wall.

It's estimated that there are 10-15 casualties, none of which have sustained life threatening injuries, according to the Metropolitan Police.
