Lidl issues urgent beer recall and tells customers not to drink it over health concerns

Affected shoppers can return the batch to the store and claim a full refund, without the need for a receipt

Lidl is desperately attempting to recall a batch of beer over health concerns.

The supermarket is also urging customers who have already brought the product not to drink it.

Shoppers are being told to return the affected batch of Starovice Czech Lager back to their local store.

This is because some of the products contain sulphur dioxide, which is not included on the label.

The product could therefore be a heath concern for people who are sensitive to sulphur dioxide or sulphites.

Customers are being asked to check the product’s label to ensure whether they had purchased from the affected batch.

The batch comes in a 500ml pack and has a best before date of October 16, 2022.

Those affected are able to return the item to the store and claim a full refund, without the need for a receipt.

Lidl has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
