Kate remains at Windsor as George, Charlotte and Louis attend first day at school as doctors 'concerned' about Queen's health
Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William and Prince Harry are among the family members to have travelled to Balmoral to visit Her Majesty
Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge has remained in Windsor as family members travel to visit the Queen in Balmoral.
Prince William is among those to have travelled to see the Queen following a statement earlier on Thursday that doctors were “concerned for Her Majesty’s health.”
Kate’s decision to stay in Windsor comes as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis begin their first full day at their new school on Thursday, Kensington Palace said.
The statement released earlier on Thursday from Buckingham Palace read: “Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.
“The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”
Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall have travelled to Her Majesty's Highlands estate.
Princess Anne is also there, while Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, are en route.
While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were due to attend the WellChild Awards ceremony in London on Thursday evening, but have changed their plans to travel to see the Queen.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be travelling to Scotland”, a spokesperson for the couple said.
Following the news from Buckingham Palace, Prime Minister Liz Truss said: “The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime.
“My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.”
While Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon added: “All of us are feeling profoundly concerned at reports of Her Majesty’s health.
“My thoughts and wishes are with the Queen and all of the royal family at this time.”
