Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can expect a new neighbour after Friends star Jennifer Aniston purchased a $14.8million (£12.8million) farmhouse in Montecito, California.

The 53-year-old bought the four-bedroom property that sits on a one acre plot with 4,320 square feet from talk show host and ally of the Sussexes, Oprah Winfrey.

The 68-year-old had bought the mansion in early 2021 for $10.5million (£9million).

Upon making her purchase of the 2.1-acre complex with a Mediterranean-style main house and two small cottages, the talk show host split up the original property and sold the two cottages to her longtime personal trainer and property manager, Bob Greene.

Jennifer Aniston will be keeping company with a wide range of A-list stars who live in the area, such as Ellen Degeneres, Ariana Grande, Gwyneth Paltrow and the Sussexes.

Aniston's new property, built in 1998, has "picturesque ocean and mountain views, multiple terraces, landscaped gardens, and a massive motorcourt, all set on a private lot nestled among oak trees at the end of a long gated driveway," says Architectural Digest.

The home is surrounded by woody areas, giving plenty of privacy, along with grassy lawns and a huge area for parking cars.

The actress rose to widespread fame with her role in Friends as Rachel Green, whom she played for ten seasons.

Aniston will be a local to Harry and Meghan, who have established a new life for themselves in the celebrity enclave of Montecito, buying a multi-million pound home and launching a non-profit foundation, after stepping down as working royals for financial freedom.

The couple have also signed lucrative deals – thought to be worth well over £100million – with Spotify and Netflix that have given them the capital to pursue their new lifestyle and public goals.

Meghan and Harry stepped down as working royals in 2020 and live in the US with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
