The father denies all allegations, claiming the elderly woman is 'lying'

An Iraqi man has been accused of sexually assaulting an elderly woman in a wheelchair inside of a German hospital toilet.

33-year-old Munthar Al L. is said to have forced his way into the toilet after the 90-year-old woman had entered and “severely” sexually abused her, and has been charged with “rape with wilful bodily harm”.

He denies all allegations, claiming he was trying to assist the woman, who was waiting for an X-ray following a fall.

The woman, named in German court as Lili F., said in a recorded video testimony she was in the waiting area and needed to use the toilet before being confronted by the man as she entered the room.

“Suddenly someone pushed the wheelchair at the door and sat me in the toilet.

“At first I thought it was a nurse. But when he wordlessly rubbed his hands between my legs and touched my chest, I got scared.”

The defendant, who is married and has a nine-year-old daughter, suffers from Kidney disease, with German newspaper Bild reporting he drinks “eight bears and a bottle of ouzo every day”.

Munthar Al L. denies the allegations, telling the court the woman is “lying” and that he just “wanted to help.”

The trial continues.
