Hillary has accused her former Presidential rival of 'spinning up a fake scandal to distract from his real ones'

Hillary Clinton has accused her former Presidential rival Donald Trump of creating false stories about her spying on the White House.

Trump has continuously accused Hillary of spying on his office during and before his presidency.

His latest accusation saw him claim Special Counsel John Durham had found evidence of spying from the Clinton campaign in an attempt to frame him as a Russian asset.

Trump alleged in a statement: "The latest pleading from Special Counsel Robert [John] Durham provides indisputable evidence that my campaign and presidency were spied on by operatives paid by the Hillary Clinton Campaign in an effort to completely fabricate connection to Russia.

"This is a scandal far greater in scope and magnitude than Watergate and those who were involved in and knew about this spying operation should be subject to criminal prosecution.

"In a stronger period of time for our country, this crime would have been punishable by death.

"In addition, reparations should be paid to those in our country who have been damaged by this."

His accusation came from a filing from Mr Durham filing a case against Michael A Sussman, a lawyer with links to the Democrat Party.

Unfortunately for Trump, data taken from the White House had actually come from the era of the Barack Obama administration.

The true purpose for the data being examined at the White House is believed to be to search the system for malware.

Mr Durham has also never said the Trump administration had been infiltrated or that it had any links to the Clinton campaign.

Sharing the fact-checking article from Vanity Fair, Ms Clinton accused Trump of peddling a "fake scandal".

She wrote: "Trump and Fox are desperately springing up a fake scandal to distract from his real ones. So it's a day that ends in Y.

"The more his misdeeds are exposed, the more he lies."
