On Monday the Canadian PM said the ‘state of emergency is not over’

Canadian actress Evangeline Lily has told Justin Trudeau to speak with protesters who against the Covid vaccine mandate.

The star of Ant-Man and The Hobbit asked the Canadian Prime Minister why he will not engage with people about the topic.

On Monday Trudeau said Canada had to start healing after police cleared downtown Ottawa of a truckers' blockade that had paralyzed the city for three weeks.

"More than ever, now is the time to work together. It's also the time to reflect on the kind of future we want for our country," Trudeau told a news conference. He defended his decision to invoke emergency powers last Monday, citing what he called the threat to the economy.

“If you are so convinced of your own reasons for the mandates sit down and talk to leaders of 2.3 million protests across the country, who represent many millions more across the nation, and explain it to them.

“Ask them to listen with open hearts and minds – and then reciprocate.

“Maybe there are solutions that can bring Canadians together you have not considered.”

Police spent two days clearing protesters from the downtown core, making 191 arrests, and towing 79 vehicles by the time the operation ended on Sunday.

The Hollywood star added that Trudeau and “the corporate media” had worked together against the trucker protests.

“You as a group have gone from ignoring these protesters, to dismissing them as a fringe minority, to smearing them as racist and misogynistic to now attacking them as terrorists.

“When you became the prime minister of Canada you did not just become the prime minister of people who agree with you. You became prime minister of every Canadian. You don’t get to pick and choose who you care about.”

Ms Lily asked Trudeau: “If you could share five things with me that would explain your point of view what would they be? I want to know.”

She ended by saying: “Listening is the only way out of the ideological mess the media has boiled us all into.”
