The 45th President was removed from Twitter, Facebook and YouTube last year, following the Capitol Riots

Donald Trump's new social media platform - Truth Social - has launched on the Apple App Store.

The former President is aiming to relaunch his online profile after being removed from the social media giants Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

The app, on which users will post "truths", is said to promote free speech without discriminating against any political outlook.

A number of technology companies have launched in opposition to what they may call the censorial tendency of the major platforms.

The founder of Gettr, another platform claiming to promote free speech, spoke to GB News last year.

Jason Miller worked for the Trump campaign, but his platform will rival Trump Social.

What the app will look like is slowly filtering out. But the app is not due to be fully operational until the end of March, Devin Nunes, head of Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) told Fox News.

The former President was alleged to have incited violence after the Capital Riots.

Donald Trump Jr tweeted an image of his father's verified Truth Social account on Feb 15.

"Get Ready! Your favourite President will see you soon!", the message said.
