Covid Plan B: 'Keep calm and carry on', says Tory MP Andrew Rosindell

Conservative MP Andrew Rosindell says he will be voting against increasing coronavirus restrictions when a vote takes place in the House of Commons.

Speaking to Gloria De Piero on GB News the backbench Tory said he had voted against “all of these lockdowns…except the first one”.

He said he understood the need for restrictions when the pandemic first hit because “none of us know what we were facing”, telling viewers the government was right to act.

Mr Rosindell went on to say that since then, “I think it has been a huge overreaction”, insinuating that problems caused by lockdowns in other areas of life “not least on education or mental health” had not been properly calculated.

The Member of Parliament for the Romford constituency in Greater London was puzzled by the Government’s latest coronavirus ‘Plan B’ measures, saying “the evidence isn’t there that this new variant is going to be catastrophic.”

He added there would always be risk in life and he did not think the risks were so great as to keep changing the way people live, he firmly stated the need for Britain to “have to keep calm and carry on.
