The former Tory MP resigned from the party after being caught watching porn in the House of Commons

A Tory MP who resigned after being caught watching porn has questioned why the whip wasn't removed from Chris Pincher immediately.

The MP for Tamworth in Staffordshire quit as Tory deputy chief whip after he was accused of drunkenly groping two men at a private members’ club in London this week.

The Prime Minister only bowed to pressure to remove the whip from his ally, meaning he is now sitting in the Commons as an independent, after an official investigation was launched.

When asked by Darren McCaffrey if the Prime Minister should have removed the whip from Chris Pincher earlier, Neil Parish replied with “immediately”.

He added: “The whip was removed from me, I don’t believe there were any formal complaints against me.

“What the chief whip had was the world’s media, like I did, barking at him and so he got frightened and he took the whip straight away from him and then afterwards gave me no help whatsoever.

"I want them to learn from what they did to me and not do it to others.

"I had a good political career for 20 odd years but I’d always been able to keep my farm and my family separate and all of a sudden they are in your space, they’re shouting abuse at you outside your door.

"I couldn’t cope with it really but I had no help."

Fresh allegations emerged as Mr Pincher said he is seeking “professional medical support” and hopes to return to represent his constituents “as soon as possible”.

And Mr Parish has asked whether what he did was as bad as Mr Pincher.

He told GB News: "The chief whip treated me as though I committed murder.

"Then part of the regime that took the whip away from me was Chris Pincher."

Mr Parish also hit out at Boris' denial of his knowledge of Mr Pincher's past behaviour.

He added: "I do gently question his intelligence on this latest thing.

"You have a situation where Chris Pincher reportedly had a minder in order to keep him from behaving badly

“By all accounts Boris must have known Dominic Cummings knew what he used to nickname Pincher by name Pincher by nature.

"You know that Dominic Cummings knows that about you, you know Doming Cummings is there sharpening his knives every morning to see which one he can stick in, he’s immediately going to say the PM knew.

"It's just not intelligent to fib that you didn’t know about his behaviour when someone will prove within a few hours that you did know.

"Members on our side are seriously worried about Boris’ trust and do people trust him."
