A Bristol City fan in his 60s is to be interviewed by Avon and Somerset Police after they allegedly racially abused Huddersfield Town players during Saturday’s match.
Police will also interview a teenager, following reports that a plastic bottle was thrown onto the playing surface at Ashton Gate yesterday.
The incident halted the game for nearly five minutes.
Neither of the individuals alleged to have been involved were arrested at Ashton Gate at the time, however they will be required to attend a police station in the coming days, police said.
According to Bristol Live, the man in his 60s was engaged by police is a Bristol City fan sat in the Lansdown stand.
Huddersfield Town have not commented on the alleged racism.
Huddersfield took all three points winning 3-2. After the game Bristol City put out a statement condemning the scenes.
"Bristol City condemns the behaviour that led to a stoppage in play during this afternoon's SkyBet Championship match against Huddersfield Town," the statement read.
"An individual was immediately ejected and handed over to police following the incident in which objects were thrown at a Huddersfield Town player. Such behaviour is unacceptable and will be dealt with in the strongest manner,” the statement added.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Officers spoke to a man in his 60s following a report of racist abuse towards one of the Huddersfield players.
“He is due to attend a police station for interview next week,” she added.
The spokesperson also commented on the alleged bottle-throwing: “A teenage boy, a juvenile, was also spoken to by officers after a plastic bottle was thrown onto the pitch.
“Again, his details were taken and an arrangement made for him to be interviewed in the presence of an appropriate adult.

“We have no tolerance for racism or missile-throwing at football matches and continue to work with the club to deal robustly with those responsible for such behaviour,” she added.
