Mr Johnson was ousted by Conservative Party colleagues in July, with his resignation sparking the current Tory leadership contest.
He finally celebrated his wedding to wife Carrie, which took place in May 2021 and had a limited attendance due to Covid rules, in a belated party on Saturday.
Celebrating at Daylesford House, in the Cotswolds, Mr Johnson is said to have dubbed the process by which he was pushed into stepping down the "greatest stitch-up since the Bayeux Tapestry".
The tapestry is an embroidered cloth, nearly 70 metres long and 50 centimetres tall, that depicts the events leading up to William the Conqueror's Norman Conquest of England in 1066.

Mr Johnson also joked that he received “masses of letters to resign, mostly from my closest family" during a speech, according to The Times.
He reportedly added: “There are many opportunities, which lead to disasters, and disasters can lead to new opportunities, including to opportunities for fresh disasters."
Mr and Mrs Johnson are said to have had their first dance to Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline.
It comes as Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss are poised to go head to head in a hustings with Tory members on Monday evening.
Both candidates will face a grilling in the second of 12 official hustings over the summer in Exeter at 7pm.
Although Conservative members have the chance to vote as early as this week, they have until the beginning of September to cast their ballot.
The winner will be confirmed by September 5.
On Monday morning, a GB News viewer hit out at the leadership contest and the state of the Conservative Party.
Roy Garner, from south Gloucestershire, explained: "I left the Conservative Party. Well, no. I believe the Conservative Party left me.
"Basically in the last few years, they've been anything other than conservative. They've lost all of the basics.
"If you look at anything. The financial status of the country, they've lost it."
