A road sign in the Midlands has caught the eye of locals – for all the wrong reasons.

Drivers in Bromsgrove in Worcestershire, may face some confusion when travelling to England’s second city as the sign points travellers in the direction of ‘Brimingham.’

In a post shared on the Facebook group Traffic Bromsgrove, users were told: “Once you see this, you can’t unsee it.”

Hundreds of followers reacted with a mix of confusion, anger and amusement, making the comments an entertaining read.

One person comments saying it “makes sense… We’re Brummies not Burmmies!”. Gary Sanders called the sign “pathetic”, adding “we pay for this incompetence”, while Philip Sharp said he “prefers it”, suggesting there be “a referendum to decide to change the name”.

This isn’t the only spelling mistake noted in the Worcestershire town, which is part of former health secretary Sajid Javid’s constituency.

One sign telling drivers where to turn for the Oakalls estate incorrectly labels the area as Oakhalls.
