The GMB has announced that the workers will walk out from November 22 and remain on strike until the dispute is settled.

Refuse workers are set to launch an all-out strike unless a pay dispute is resolved.

Members of the GMB union employed by Veolia in Sheffield have been taking industrial action in protest at a below inflation pay offer.

The union has announced that the workers will walk out from November 22 and remain on strike until the dispute is settled.

The union has claimed that Veolia has hired agency staff to cover for striking workers.

GMB official Lee Parkinson said: “Veolia needs to stop opening the cheque book trying to break this strike using out-of-town labour and get back to the table to negotiate an end to this dispute.

“The council can order that now and need to if they want to avoid this battle turning into a war.”
