The Met Police is appealing for witnesses following the incident

A 44-year-old pedestrian was killed after being hit by a road sweeper vehicle in London on Monday.

Officers attended the junction of Pemberton Road with Wightman Road, N4 after a road cleaning lorry struck the pedestrian who was reportedly a road worker.


London's Air Ambulance and the LAS attended the scene, but despite efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the road sweeper stopped at the scene and has since been assisted by police with the ongoing situation.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and have appealed to any witnesses who saw the collision to come forward.
