30 activists took to the busy road in a bid to prompt the Government to halt all new oil and gas licenses.

The protest commenced at 7.30am on Tuesday morning.

The road has since been cleared and reopened with the Metropolitan Police making 26 arrests.

Two protesters from the campaign group remain up the two 84m masts on the north side of the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, meaning it remains closed.

The pair climbed up the masts at 5am on Monday morning, prompting the bridge to shut down.

The road has remained closed for over 24 hours as the activists continue their protest against the Government's oil and gas policy.

It comes after a spate of demonstrations by Just Stop Oil, including soup being thrown over the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy building.
