The latest favourite has left the frontrunners’ list in tatters

A new 007 replacement for Daniel Craig has caused the Bond odds to drastically change this week as a new favourite emerges.

The next James Bond is likely to be announced within the next few years but until then, odds have been the best way to predict who the next British spy will be.

And now the frontrunner’s list has been shaken up as Ladbrokes have cut the odds-on James Norton.

The 37-year-old British actor has recently appeared on our screens as Tommy Lee Royce in BBC show Happy Valley.

The star plays the show’s villain but has proven he can hold his own.

Norton now has an incredible 11/4 in the Bond odds, making him the new favourite.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "James Norton may have referenced Spider-Man in last night's Happy Valley, but punters are seemingly convinced he'll soon be playing another Hollywood hero in the shape of 007 - and we've slashed odds to see him now head the betting as a result."

The new favourite follows previous front runner Aaron Taylor-Johnson who had reportedly attended some Bond auditions with Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson.

Rumours started at the beginning of the year that Taylor-Johnson had become an internal favourite before further reports claims he had attended meeting with Bond bosses.

He now places joint second with 3/1 odds on bagging the job.

The Kick-Ass actor is neck and neck with former Superman star Henry Cavill.

Cavill battled against Craig in the audition process for Casino Royale in 2005 and has since become a major Hollywood star.

But just behind is Tom Hardy who has been a fan-favourite since Craig’s final movie, No Time To Die.

He currently has a 10/1 odd but has admitted he will “not” talk about the role.
